Vardinoyannis Foundation <\/strong>was completed with great success. The event took place on <strong>Tuesday, March 8, 2022<\/strong>, on the occasion of <strong>International Women\u2019s Day<\/strong>, in the presence of <strong>H.E. the President<\/strong> <strong>of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The evening culminated with excerpts from the musical performance entitled <strong>\u201cFragments of Silence\u201d <\/strong>(<strong>\u03a4\u03c9\u03bd \u03a3\u03b9\u03c9\u03c0\u03b7\u03bb\u03ce\u03bd \u03a3\u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03ac\u03b3\u03bc\u03b1\u03c4\u03b1<\/strong>), based on <strong>lyrical<\/strong> <strong>narrations or songs by unknown female poets of the Ancient World<\/strong>, with music by <strong>Lena Platonos <\/strong>and adaptation to Modern Greek by <strong>Thanos Tsaknakis<\/strong>. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Interpreted by<strong> Maria Farantouri <\/strong>and narrated by <strong>Maria Skoula. The work will be presented in its complete form on the full moon of July 13, 2022, at the Archaeological Site of Elefsina, in the framework of the artistic program of 2023 \u0395\u039b\u0395V\u03a3\u0399\u03a3 European Capital of Culture<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-7907 gallery-columns-2 gallery-size-full'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4878\" height=\"3252\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/XFAaM1PU-scaled.jpeg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"3625\" height=\"2417\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/PAN_1375-scaled.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In the framework of the event <strong>\u201cThe Parthenon\u2019s Expatriate Goddesses<\/strong>,<strong>\u201d <\/strong>held in the <strong>Parthenon Gallery <\/strong>under the light of the Acropolis, with <strong>leading British<\/strong> <strong>art historian Dr. Tom Flynn <\/strong>as keynote speaker, a global message was sent about the <strong>urgent need to return<\/strong> <strong>the Parthenon Marbles<\/strong>, but also the <strong>need to return to the Values <\/strong>that this <strong>Monument <\/strong>symbolizes: <strong>Democracy, Equality <\/strong>and <strong>Solidarity<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The event was attended by\u2014among others\u2014<strong>the Director of the Acropolis Museum, Prof. Dimitris Padermalis, the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the First Lady of Cyprus, Andri Anastasiades, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Maria Syrengela, <\/strong>representing the <strong>Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO, Marianna V. Vardinoyannis <\/strong>and the <strong>Director-General of the Acropolis Museum, Prof. Nikolaos Stampolidis.
