Argyrios Oikonomou was born in Elefsina, in 1962. In 1980, he entered the Military Academy of Combat Support Officers, specifically the Judicial Department, where he studied for four years, successfully completing his studies at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Starting in 1984, as a Judicial Officers, he served in the Military Courts as a Judge and Prosecutor and in the Ministry of National Defense as a Legal Advisor. In 2016-17 and 2017-18 he served for two consecutive terms as the President of the Union of Military Justice Judges. Starting in 1990, his love for sports and for the city of Elefsina led him to become actively involved in sports, from various posts. He served in the administration of “Panelefsiniakos F.C.,” as a member of the basketball department of the same club, of “IRAKLIS ELEFSINAS,” and Elefsina Basketball Club. Since 2000, he has been active in the Piraeus and West Attica Football Clubs Association, as a Secretary. He is a member of the Elefsina Asia Minor Association. In October 2018, he submitted his resignation in order to become active in local government.
